Central Virginia Health Services is a non-profit community health center with Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) status. We started in 1970 as a community based and patient-directed organization focused on providing care to people with limited access to the health services they need. We are committed to providing safe, accessible, affordable, comprehensive, high quality and culturally sensitive care to the people we serve.
Central Virginia Health Services is proud to provide uninsured/underinsured community members with medical, dental, and behavioral health care through our sliding scale payment plan which is based on individual/household income.
In order to be seen by a behavioral health specialist with the CVHS, you must first make an appointment with a Nurse Practitioner / physician and obtain a referral.
Behavioral health care, counseling/therapy for ages 5+.
Current support groups at CVHS:
Sleep Therapy Group – virtually meeting on Thursdays from 3 – 4 pm, starting April 10th.
SMART Recovery Group – Mondays at 3 pm, meeting at Petersburg Recovery Center, starting April 7th.
Postpartum Virtual Support Group – Meeting April 22 & 29 and May 6 & 13. Time – 10:30 – 12:00 pm.
Healing From Loss – virtually meeting on Wednesdays from April 23rd – June 4th.
ADHD Education & Support Group – meeting virtually on Tuesdays 12:00 – 1:30 pm from June 17th – August 5th.
