Mental Health America Fredericksburg Region (MHAfred) offers various support services for adults in recovery.
Support Groups
MHAfred support groups are peer-led and facilitated by Virginia Certified Peer Recovery Specialists (CPRS). These groups are offered at no cost and provide a safe and welcoming environment for individuals to share their experiences and receive support. The support groups listed below are provided virtually, and information to connect is available on our website:

- Mid-Week Peer Support: Need a mid-week boost? Join us on Wednesdays from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM for peer support and encouragement.
- Peer Connections: Connect with peers every Thursday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM and share your journey with others who understand.

Recovery
- Action Planning for Prevention and Recovery (APPR): These in-person drop-in sessions take place on most Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at MHAfred’s office, located at 150 Olde Greenwich Drive, Suite 102, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22408. Please call our office at (540) 371-2704 or check our calendar to confirm that the session is scheduled.
APPR is a self-directed recovery and wellness program that promotes personal awareness, health, and life transformation. Trained facilitators support individuals in identifying their unique self-help steps, life-skills, and personal strategies for maintaining their recovery. Everyone is welcome to attend these free, drop-in sessions.
